Has anyone tried this source, claims to have 620 film, sheet films of various sizes and the price is not bad, flashbulbs, but I am not sure which to buy for the flash guns that I got with the 4 x 5 Speed graphic. This may the wrong forum for this, if so I apologize but I was not sure how many read the other forums here. I cross posted to them. If this should not be done I will remove them
but if this source is any good, it is the best that I have found yet.

Ed-

I have bought film from J&C. I have tried Efke (which I don't care for) and their J&C Classic which I liked pretty well. From what I read, their 620 is 120 that they've cut the spools down on. Personally I'd rather respool it myslef. As far as flashbulbs, I'd check epay or your local flea markets first. Many's the time I've bought a dozen bulbs for around $3.00 (Press 25, and the like). I paid a little more for #11's. A far cry from $1.00 a piece. I'm not sure which flash you have, but I've used the aforementioned Press 25's and #11's with good results. HTH.

A lot of the shooters over on the apug forum swear by the J&C film products, they do seem to be one of the prevelent sources of this type of supplies now a days.

Hey Ebrown27,

How do you like your Stereo Graphic? Are you using bulbs with that camera?

No, I wish I had a flash for it. It makes really good pictures. I made some on a cloudy day and had to open up to f8 and f5.6 according to 50+ year old Sekonic which still must be accurate as all the pictures look good that I used it for exposure settings. I had prints made and mounted them on cardboard that fits the old stereo Opticans (old old stereo view) and the 3D is good. So that means the shutter speed must be pretty close to the advertised 1/100. The only thing was with such large f stops the infinity was out of focus.

Had I bought 400 film everything would have been sharp with either f11 or f16. I have a roll of Kodachrome in it now and it only has a speed of 64 if I remember correctly. The camera looks as if it had hardly ever been used and the brown leather case if not worn very much at all. The only thing that keeps it from being mint, is that it is so old. To me mint means just as it came from the factory. Nothing 40 years old can be mint as far as I am concerned but that is a personal judgement. Nothing to argue over.

Yeah, them 40 year old mints can be pretty stale.

Maybe there chould be a category such as "mint + 40" or some such. In my case, make that "mint + 63". Or, to be correct, "rebuilt to mint + 63". IOW, "good user."
