Hi I was out enjoying the day today photographing in the park when a kid on one of those damned motorized scooters slammed into the tripod & camera hitting my tripod & crown(knocking all to the ground camera tripod & kid) breaking the ground glass into several minute pieses of glass .. it ruined an other wise good day *sigh* oh well does any know where I may be able to locate a replacement ground glass? any info would be appreciated thanks

Since you had a "Crown" there's a real good chance you also had an Ektalite fresnel screen on the inside of your original GG. If so, you will either have to shim out the replacement GG or find a replacment Ektalite.
Sorry, but I would have no idea where to find a replacement. But we can help with the dimensions for shimming if you have to...
And you won't be disappointed by the SatinSnow GG. I have two for my 8x10's and they are top quality!

I dont know if there was a fresnel screen would it be a separate glass affixed to the gg? in looking at the pieces it appears that only a single piece of glass brokeand the remaining pieces do not appear to have a second layer ( i may be wrong but I dont think that there was a fresnel screen attached) is it possible that there never was one ? thanks for the info If I do need it shimmed I'll be contacting you for the dimensions thanks again.!

Richard, first of thanks for your purchase.
if you don't see pieces of plastic in your pile of pieces then you did not have a fresnel, normally the fresnel is a pretty stout piece of plastic with concentric rings on it, if you have ever seen the funny looking lenses in the back of a Motorhome, then you have seen a fresnel.

Dave thanks I thought that's what was being referred to but there wasnt any thing like that in the broken pieces so I guess I wont need to do any shimming
